Reading!

Thank you to all parents who came to our first reading session! It was a great success, and all the children enjoyed sharing all the texts on offer with you. Remember this will happen weekly, and feel free to come whenever you can make it!

Porridge

Yesterday we tasted Porridge. We had salty porridge like Daddy Bear, sweet porridge like Mummy Bear and plain porridge like Baby Bear. After tasting them, we all recorded our favourites!

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our first Reading session today from 2:30pm!

Today we made Gingerbread men puppets! We enjoyed using them to help us retell the story!

We also talked about Water Safety, and how we should behave when around Water. In the story, the Gingerbread Man couldn't swim, and accepted a lift across the river from the sly Fox, whcih was a big mistake! We made Warning signs to help remind the Gingerbread Man to stay away from the river!

Gingerbread Man

Today we made Gingerbread men. We all helped follow the recipe to mix the ingredients together, then roll out the dough. We all then cut out a Gingerbread man each using a cutter.
After baking, we all decorated our own Gingerbread man using raisins, sweets, chocolate buttons and icing.

Please comments if you enjoyed eating yours!

Welcome Back!

Today we have begun our new RE topic, 'Celebrations'.
We discussed how we celebrate our birthdays and other special events such as Christmas and New Years with parties. We talked about the different things we use to make these special such as giving gifts, blowing up balloons, playing games and eating food.
We had a class party to welcome us back to School. We danced, played party games and ate yummy foods.

Elf Visits!

We were lucky to recieve a visit from a real Elf from the North Pole! He told us that Father Christmas was watching how hard we were working in School! He posed for a photo with us!

Xmas Stockings!

All the children attended or Christmas Mass, which also celebrated Miss Murphys time at our School.

Yesterday we made Christmas Tree decorations. We glued a star on felt stockings and threading ribbon through! We made enough to give to other teachers and presents too!

We then watched the Year 6 Carol Service and enjoyed the fantastic singing! Our favourite song was 'Christmas Bell Carol' which we've all been humming ever since!

Today we enjoyed an assembly celebrating all our Christmas plays and said a final Good bye to Miss Murphy who is leaving.

Please can I say another huge thank you for all of your generous gifts and cards. We really appreciate them!

Have a fantastic Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year!
